Essentials for Hazardous Materials Managers Overview Course
(in preparation for the CHMM Exam)
on April 6 - 8, 2010

Time: 8:00am to 4:30pm (April 6,7), 8:00am to noon (April 8)

Cost includes course tuition, review book (Hazardous Materials Management Desk Reference), snacks, lunches (April 6-7), and a one year (2010) membership in the NYPenn Chapter of ACHMM.

- The statutory and regulatory framework of environmental and hazardous materials management.
- Compliance Standards and State-of-the-Art work practices on:
- Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage and Disposal;
- Hazardous Material Storage;
- Radioactive materials;
- Workplace safety;
- Packaging;
- Spills;
- Cleanup; and
- Hazards assessment and communication;
- Basic and applied hazardous materials management principles, controls and concepts
- Science and technology of hazardous materials management;
- Chemical and physical characteristics;

- Biological effects of hazardous materials;

- Geology/hydrology
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Experienced individuals such as technicians, engineers, scientists, facility supervisors and managers, and/or regulators, who have assigned duties or responsibilities related to management of hazardous materials and environmental, health and safety (EHS) responsibilities.
